Family, Health and Safety Study. Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Quantitative Summary Report

The quantitative survey on masculinities and gender-based violence in Papua New Guinea was conducted from 2012 to 2013 by the Medical Research Council, South Africa, with support from UNDP PNG, the UNDP Regional Pacific Centre and Partners for Prevention. The Summary Report entitled “Family, Health and Safety Study” presents statistics with regard to the lives and experiences of 864 men and 879 women surveyed and is a representative sample for Bougainville. The study makes recommendations for ways forward for addressing violence, trauma and issues around health and safety and offers help in the design of programs engaging the people of Bougainville to address their needs and further peace, security and development.
